Hi! My name is Alyah (Ah-lee-yah), and I’m a first-generation American with roots in El Salvador and Brazil. I’m an animator, storyteller, and a 2024 graduate of the Massachusetts College of Art and Design, where I earned my BFA in Animation!
My latest project, Wilson Wants Wings, is a whimsical zine/comic inspired by my beloved axolotl, Wilson. It’s about Wilson’s fantastical dream as he retells it to his best friend Luna the cat. I write, illustrate, print, and even handbind my comics.Whether I’m working in gouache or digital, my art is always rooted in wonder. I love drawing imaginative characters and whimsical creatures inspired by the stories, games, and cartoons that made the world feel magical to me as a kid. That sense of magic and possibility, is something I try to infuse in every project I make. From cute stickers, prints of mermaids and fairies, to my zine about a cute axolotl, I hope that feeling will come across to anyone who takes a look at my art.
